Our visit was Feb 2nd 2025, it was a cold day and inside the castle was also cold. Although this didn’t ruin our experience. Wonderful little gem and so glad we found it. Beautiful buildings, the free speaking hand held tour guide is fab and gives you all the history on the place at your own pace. Views from the top South Tower are beautiful. We finished off our visit with a hot drink in the Tea Rooms next to the car park. Deluxe hot chocolate was divine 😋😊 Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend it for sure.

I adore Stokesay. The hard part is to stay away. It is in my top 3 historic buildings in the UK.

Remarkably in tact castle, which you can explore at your leisure. It is a small castle overall, but it is fascinating. I can be a bit of a nerd and I was fascinated by the original period oak panelling and timbers with ornate carvings. I would definitely like to explore it further without my own kids pulling me from one room to another at pace.

Free audio guide with your ticket really brings Stokesay to life - it's very well done, entertaining and informative - I thoroughly recommend it.

The of the most stunning picturesque houses and historic mediaeval fortified houses in England, built in 1280 by the Lord of Ludlow from the wool industry.

A small site but spent much longer there than expected. The audio guide is a must and we were treated to entertaining plays from Quill and Inkling thanks to Halloween.

Fabulous place to visit, loads of history, the staff are friendly, lovely scenery. The castle is such a curious building, the free audio commentary pads are well worth taking around with you.

Don't go if you have a dog. The reception team did say dogs were limited to the green areas, but I think it should be clearer, even show a drawing of what you are restricted to. It was a waste of £16 for myself and daughter, which is a lot to spare. We were given an audio tour, which was pointless because I couldn't take the dog on the tour. Not sure why a clean well behaved dog couldn't walk around a castle. We've been allowed around Skipton castle with absolutely no issues. A lady suggested that I tie my dog up outside and leave him, which if you are a dog owner, you'll appreciate this is not a good suggestion. Sorry, this is a lovely castle but they should have been clearer.

Great castle with beautiful views, story telling form a free device while in castle that you can hear at your leisure. Also great segments of story telling from fable tales to historical events from amazing actors set up on the grounds. Parking is not free but ample, tea room/cafe has plenty of choice and nice food, castle is very reasonably priced with access to all areas. Highly recommend

Absolutely loved Stokesay Castle . It's a definite must-see if you are in the area and adore medival history as I do . Great little gift shop on site , too. The little tea room is also worth a visit for a cup of tea and slice of cake after your visit to the castle .

I was given tickets from parents as gift who have been English heritage members for years, this has never once been an issue whilst visiting a number of different sites throughout the country. The staff did not allow me to use these and was pressured into purchasing tickets which felts like a waste of money. The site was pleasant but was not worth the fee (£24) would strongly suggest anyone to do research before visiting this site.

Well worth a visit. Not suitable for elderly people who struggle with uneven ground and steep stairs.

Lovely little castle with a good gift shop and tea room. Ample parking and not too far to walk. There was lots of access on site and plenty of rooms to visit. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely come again in the summer.
